UNITED since 1969

 

Willoughby United Netball Club has been part of the local community since 1969.
For generations, players, families and volunteers have come together through a shared love of the game and a strong sense of belonging.

​

What started as a local sporting club has grown into a welcoming, inclusive community where players of all ages and abilities are supported to play, develop and thrive.

​

Netball is at the heart of what we do, but people are the reason we exist.

UNITED essentials

​

  • Willoughby United is part of the Northern Suburbs Netball Association and fields teams of all ages in the Winter competition.

​

  • ​Competition games are played at Bicentennial Reserve netball courts (Small St, Willoughby

​​

  • Club training is held on Wednesday nights at Bicentennial Reserve netball courts

 

​​

  • NetSetGo (ages 7-9): 5pm - 6pm

  • Juniors (ages 10-15): 6pm - 7pm

  • Seniors (ages 15+): 7pm - 8pm at teams discretion

From NetSetGo and junior competitions through to senior and social teams, we offer pathways that allow players to participate in a way that suits their age, ability and goals.

​

We also value the role of coaches, umpires and volunteers, and work to create an environment where everyone feels supported and connected.

WILLOUGHBY UNITED NETBALL CLUB

EXECUTIVE POSITIONS

​

 

President 

  • Attends and chairs United executive meetings 

  • M/C presentation night  or appoint a delegate of their choosing

  • Approve financial transactions

  • Ensure other members carry out their duties 

  • Attend NSNA Council meetings as delegate 

  • Represent the club at Presentation day for NSNA 

  • Update website and social media when needed 

 

Vice President 

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Chair meetings if president unavailable

  • Organises presentation night 

    • Venue etc.

    • Trophies 

    • Certificates 

  • Organises End of year dinner 

  • Update website and social media when needed 

 

Secretary 

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Distributes agenda and meeting minutes

  • Takes minutes at all meetings 

  • Receives correspondence in and out 

  • WWCC verifications with Services NSW

  • Be the point of contact for the club

  • Attend NSNA Council meeting as delegate 

  • Update website and social media when needed 

 

Treasurer  

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Accountable for all monies – distribution, collection etc.

  • Balance accounts 

  • Prepares and reviews yearly budget 

  • Prepares accounts for annual audit 

  • Presents audit and financials at United AGM 

 

Junior Coordinator 

  • Attends WUNC executive meetings 

  • Coordinates grading days for up to 4 weeks before start of season

  • Ensures that all players are:

    • In appropriate age groups

    • Graded according to ability

  • Ensures grading is in line with United grading policy 

  • Announces teams after grading is completed 

  • Complete team lists to be distributed to teams

  • Allocates teams to appropriate grades 

  • Coordinates managers for all teams and ensure they are aware of their duties - Relays any important information throughout the season 

  • Register all players through Play HQ

  • Organise volunteers for duty 

 

Senior Coordinator 

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Coordinates grading days for up to 3 weeks before start of the season

  • Ensures that all players are graded in appropriate grades 

  • Ensures grading is in line with WUNC grading policy 

  • Announces teams after grading is completed 

  • Complete team lists to be distributed to teams 

  • Coordinates managers for all teams and ensure they are aware of their duties

  • Relays any important information throughout the season 

  • Register all players through Play HQ

  • Organise volunteers for duty

Junior Umpiring Coordinator 

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Coordinate umpires for all games 

  • Coordinate umpires for red robin 

  • Oversee the completion of umpire development course/rules of netball exams

  • Makes sure umpires are appropriate age (12 years and over)

  • Attends NSNA umpiring meetings 

  • Makes decision regarding United umpiring award 

  • Organises with NSNA levels and/or coaching for umpires 

  • Nominates suitable umpires for final series

  • Submit umpires to treasurer for payment of games 

 

Senior Umpiring Coordinator 

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Coordinate umpires for all games 

  • Coordinate umpires for red robin

Coaching Coordinator  

  • Attend United executive meetings 

  • Arrange coaching clinic prior to season commencement 

  • Finalise team coaches and notify coaches of team

  • WWCC forms completed by coaches and hand over to secretary

  • Introduce and offer support throughout season to all coaches

Night Competition Coordinator 

  • Register teams into night competition

  • Register players through MyNetball

​

Uniform and Equipment Coordinator 

  • Attends United executive meetings 

  • Purchasing and selling of uniforms and accessories

  • Distributes and collection of team bags each year 

  • Purchase equipment – balls, bibs etc. 

  • At end of season and/or during season wash bibs and refill first aid kits
